Our Picnic by the Sea Bike Package ($50) allows you to tour the Shining Sea Bikeway on these beautiful bikes, take a rest at Trunk River or Chappy beach and enjoy the perfect beach picnic! We will provide a cooler bag with two chilled bottles of refreshing sparkling water, a nice sample of cheese and crackers, fresh cut berries, and a choice of a local bottle of wine OR two craft beers.
Your picnic includes to-go wine glasses and wine key, compostable disposable dinnerware and a large waterproof picnic blanket. Have a sweet tooth after? Indulge in chocolates from a Falmouth chocolatier. Get ready to unpack, unwind and enjoy the outdoors!
Places to Enjoy Biking
Depending on your interest and your stamina, there are several spots to visit while biking. Our beautiful new bikes have bountiful baskets in which you can load up your delicious picnic lunch for an afternoon out, or fill your basket with a bottle of wine and cheese to enjoy a romantic sunset. There are several spots to take a rest stop for a unique meal on-the-go!
Shining Sea Bikeway
The famous paved bike path stretches from Woods Hole all the way to North Falmouth. Enjoy the Inn’s delicious complimentary breakfast before heading out for the ride along spectacular beaches, through picturesque marshes and peaceful forest. Birdwatchers should pack binoculars to spot numerous species in the wooded trails along Salt Pond Marsh. Located just off the Shining Sea Bikeway, visitors will enjoy a stop at Spohr Gardens, where the rhododendrons start to dazzle between mid-May to mid-June.
The Village of Woods Hole
Staying at the Woods Hole Inn means you have the highlights of the village right out our front door! Bike to beaches, restaurants, shops and parks. Enjoy a picnic at nearby Stoney Beach or Nobska Beach. Families will enjoy biking to Taft’s Playground, followed by a visit to Woods Hole
Science Aquarium. Bike parking is located conveniently throughout the village in front of Steamship Authority, Landfall Restaurant, Quicks Hole Taqueria, Redfield Auditorium on Water Street, Rowe Laboratory on the MBL campus, and the Lillie Building facing Eel Pond. For couples, now that the days are longer, bring along the bottle of wine and cheese provided by the Woods Hole Inn to enjoy the gorgeous sunsets seen from Nobska Beach or Stoney Beach.
