Our Top 5 favorite outdoor Craft Breweries

Hop-ing into Summer- Upper Cape Brewery Explosion!

Woods Hole has long been known as an epicenter of science and beaches, a bustling village filled with shops and waterfront eateries. But who knew that there are now five craft breweries operating within an easy drive? Let us share with you our staff favorites!

Bad Martha Farmer’s Brewery

Brewers from the Vineyard came up with this wicked fresh idea, and last year built out a delightful brewhouse with a taproom on Route 28 right next to Mahoney’s Garden Center.  With a large outdoor space, they also offer artisan brick oven pizzas.

Naukabout Brewery and Taproom

The Naukabout brewery is one of our long-time Cape Cod favorites. With warm summer days ahead, Naukabout aims to prove “ a taproom so that everyone can find a place to kick back, relax and unwind with family and friends”.   Located about 30 minutes drive from Woods Hole Inn in Mashpee Mass.

Naukabout Beers

Aquatic Brewing Company

Located in downtown Falmouth, this newcomer to the brew scene was created by local scientists who enjoy craft beer. Be sure to try their Pie in the Sky Coffee brew, made with coffee from our favorite bakery in Woods Hole. Doesn’t get more hyper-local or authentic than that. Located about ten minutes drive from Woods Hole Inn, or hop on one of our Woods Hole Inn bikes and bike up the Shining Sea Bike Path in about half an hour.

Cape Cod Winery

OK, it’s not a brewery but sitting out on the gentle slope of this winery and enjoying an evening by the firepit is sublime and definitely worth mentioning here! They are known for their rosé mermaid water and the famous Wolf Pizza food truck (don’t ask, just try!). Kicking back into the sunset with rosé pizza and friends? Priceless. Located about a 20-minutes drive from Woods Hole Inn in Falmouth.

Coming Soon –Tree House Brewing Company – Cape Cod

The hottest craft beer in Massachusetts is about to open a beachside brewery in Sandwich MA. Looking out over the opening of the Cape Cod Canal, feet in the sand with friends on a summer’s day. Could there be anything more perfect? About a half-hour drive from Woods Hole Inn up route 28 near the Canal. Opening date TBD, but this will be the bomb.
