Thanksgiving Cape Cod
Thanksgiving on Cape Cod, a time for long walks on quiet beaches, great conversations with friends & family, memorable meals including our favorite — freshly baked pies with home made crusts and plenty of real whipped cream.
Ahh, the holidays are upon us with all their festive glory. Here in Woods Hole, we like to celebrate Thanksgiving Cape Cod-style — adding to our sea glass collection, picking up the turkey from our local farm, making relish with cranberries just harvested off the Falmouth bogs, taking long walks in Beebe Woods with friends.
The very first Thanksgiving happened just a few miles from here at Plimouth Plantation, and so we consider it fitting to break bread in the shadow of our forefathers, on this sandy spit we call Cape Cod. It’s a great time of year to visit Plimouth Plantation , an easy drive from the Woods Hole Inn.
Fall is especially beautiful, with sunsets coming earlier each day — the glowering orange orb glowing off the water at last light. Local dining options abound including Quicks Hole Tavern, Water Street Kitchen, Captain Kidd, and Landfall all open in Woods Hole. Both Seacrest Hotel in North Falmouth and Harborview Hotel in Edgartown (a short ferry ride away) offer excellent banquets on Thanksgiving Day.
