The Nature of Mass Audubon’s Mid & Upper Cape Sanctuaries
April 9, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The first lecture in a series of three by naturalists from Long Pasture, the base of Mass Audubon’s mid-Cape operations.
In this illustrated presentation, Ian Ives, sanctuary director, will talk about the variety of critical habitats in the mid and upper Cape sanctuaries, including barrier beaches, coastal plain ponds, salt marshes, cedar swamps and vernal pools. Mr. Ives will explain what makes these habitats so special and highlight some of the rare plant and animal species within them. He will also provide ways one can become more involved in conservation of these habitats through Mass Audubon.
This program is appropriate for teens and adults. No registration necessary.
