March 26, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The Woods Hole Film Festival is pleased to announce the 2015/2016 season of FILM FALMOUTH, a collaboration with Falmouth Academy to present a monthly screening series of independent film each year from October through May. Film Falmouth is supported in part by a grant from the Cape Cod 5 Charitable Foundation Trust and by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. WOMEN OF ’69, UNBOXED A feature documentary film by Peter Barton, 2014, USA, 59 min. An intimate, personalized portrait of women of the 1960s through the eyes of one colorful class that graduated from Skidmore College in 1969. This group of women – who were both electrified and pummeled by the turbulent surf of the 60s – look back, then ahead, as they turn 65. They ruminate on their heartaches and triumphs, and evaluate the “dowry” they’ll leave for future generations. If their parents were the Greatest Generation, perhaps this generation was the Loudest. They changed the world, at least in their fevered dreams, and the world changed them. The trigger for these revelations/reminiscences is in the class’s yearbook. Each photo was a collaboration with a sexy Turkish artist, and is full of the 60s spirit of risk, rebelliousness, and creativity. Indeed, this yearbook wasn’t a book at all; the portraits came to each alumna loose-leaf, in a box.
