Breakfast. All rates include a continental breakfast served from 8 am to 10 am at our Cape Cod B&B in the sunny breakfast room overlooking Woods Hole harbor. On weekdays in the off season, we serve breakfast from 8 am to 9 am. Read our reviews — breakfast rocks at the Woods Hole Inn.
Amenities. A really tasty continental breakfast, private bath with shower, free wireless internet access, flat screen color TV with DVD player, iPod docking station, air conditioning in summer months, luxury cotton towels, high thread count cotton sheets, complimentary bikes, free parking…does that work for you? Several of our new rooms on the second floor have private decks with water views over Woods Hole harbor and the Martha’s Vineyard ferry terminal.
Local Tax. All room rates at our Cape Cod B&B are subject to 9.7% local and state lodging tax.
Minimum Stay. We reserve the right to require a two-night minimum stay during our “high season,” selected holidays, for wedding accommodations and on weekends. For one-night stay requests, please call to inquire.
Deposits and Payment. A room deposit of 50% of the total stay (or 100% of a one-night stay or wedding stay) will guarantee your reservation at our Cape Cod B&B; balance is due at check-in. Mastercard, Visa, Amex and travelers checks accepted.
Cancellation. Reservations canceled 14 days or more in advance of arrival date will be refunded in full with a $25 processing fee per room. Cancellations made within 14 days of arrival will be charged in full and only refunded based on the ability to rent the canceled room(s) and a $25 processing fee per room. Cancellations FOR ANY REASON made less than 48 hours prior to check in will be charged in full. Early departures will not be refunded.
Gift Cards. We sell gift certificates to future stays at the Inn, please call us for details. We also accept Bed & Breakfast.com gift cards, and will redeem a maximum of one gift card per stay. We accept no other gift cards.
Arrival/Departure. Check out is at 11 am. Check in is between 3-7 pm. Check in after 7 PM is by prior arrangement only. Late check-ins with no prior arrangement will be assessed a late check in fee. Online same day reservations can not be accommodated after 9 pm; refunds will be issued in the AM should this misunderstanding occur.
Smoke Free. The Inn is a historic building, so it will come as no shock to you that we do not allow smoking of any kind inside or anywhere on the grounds for the safety and health of our guests. In addition, candles are strictly forbidden. Failure to comply with this important fire safety rule will result in immediate eviction with no refund. Damages for smoke remediation plus removing a room from service for several days starts at $1500 and will be assessed at our cost. We are very serious about fire safety here.
Fire Safety. The Inn has been substantially upgraded and has a fire sprinkler system in all guest areas. That’s right, state-of-the-art fire safety stuff which helps all of us sleep soundly at night.
Lost Keys. Un-returned keys will result in a $25 charge. Lost or misplaced keys while a registered guest will result in a $100 charge if the need to re-enter the room occurs after 10 pm.
Pets. We had so many people ask us this question that we decided to dedicate a room at our Cape Cod B&B to travelers with pets. So yes, if you book early, we have a great new space that has it’s own entrance and a private bath where we allow friendly and well-behaved pets. We do not allow pets (with the notable exception of handicapped assistance dogs) in the rest of the inn. We require advance notice, charge a pet fee of $50 per day and ask that your pet have up to date shots and great manners. We will ask you to sign a damages waiver, and we will charge you to replace bedding, furniture or for any other damage that might occur. We ask you not to leave your pet unattended in the room, and will charge a pet-sitting fee of $25 per hour if a barking or whining dog is left unattended. You brought your pet to be with you, right?
Children. Well supervised children over the age of six years are welcome, as the Inn is not designed for infants or toddlers. Children younger than six (6) will be accepted by prior arrangement only. Please don’t just show up with an infant as we can not guarantee we have an appropriate room for you. Depending on the room, there may be additional occupancy fees for more than 2 guests in any room. “Pack and Play” cribs can be reserved with advance notice for a fee.
Quiet. Management reserves all rights to ensure the quiet enjoyment of our Cape Cod B&B by all of our guests. You get that, right? In addition, we like to remind everyone that we are smack in the middle of a busy village with lots of people and several popular bars. Sometimes, there is street noise even late at night. We apologize in advance for this inconvenience, and we do provide sound machines and air conditioners in each room which provide white noise to mitigate the issue when it happens.
Bicycles. Bicycles are provided complimentary to our Cape Cod B&B guests on a first-come, first serve basis. We recommend helmets and ask you to sign a release (that’s just good common sense). Bikes are for use on the mainland only – we can recommend many rental places on the Vineyard should you wish to bike there.
Golf. We are lucky to have access to a private, members-only facility to which you gain access as a guest of our Cape Cod B&B. You are asked to follow all Club rules while on the premises, a copy of which will be emailed to you upon booking. Tee-times are as available and will not be guaranteed until reserved. There are no cancellations or refunds on golf packages once booked. There are no refunds in case of bad weather when the course is deemed unplayable, but a mutual date can be rescheduled and additional lodging fees may apply. All incidental charges at the Golf Club including but not limited to equipment, food, drink and damages of any kind will be the responsibility of the guest. The Golf Club maintains the right to ask unruly customers to leave with no refund. We don’t recommend unruliness, in general.
Parking. The center of Woods Hole can be a challenging place to park. On-site valet parking is provided for one car per room. Please note due to the constraints of our small lot, your car may not be available past 10 pm unless coordinated in advance. Parking check out is at 11 am. Additional parking will be considered on a first-come, first-serve basis at a market daily rate.
Damages. The rooms at our Cape Cod B&B are filled with upscale furniture, top-of-the-line linens and prized robes sets. Should there be an accident during your stay, or some other significant damage or loss, we will need to charge you for the value of the replacement or repair. We will notify you immediately of our concern and please feel free to call us to discuss the issue. Robes are $69 each and full sheet sets of our upscale luxury linens are $250. Other repairs will be assessed at our cost.
Storms. There will be no refunds given for inclement weather of any kind, including hurricanes. Hurricane season is August through October. We suggest travelers insurance which is available through many vendors, or can be arranged through us at the time of booking.
Weddings and Events. We allow events of up to 70 people on the grounds of the inn with a two night booking of the entire inn plus additional event fees in months other than July and August. Please call us for more information.
Liability. There are no safes in the rooms at our Cape Cod B&B. The Woods Hole Inn is not liable for loss or damage to items stored in the rooms. We can keep valuables locked in our office as a courtesy only if guests release us from all liability associated with loss or damage of those items.
Eco-Efforts. We have renovated the building re-using whatever materials possible and used only green paints; we replaced old appliances with new energy efficient appliances; we use compact fluorescent bulbs in many places; we instituted a building-wide recycling and waste stream management policy; we try to keep laundry to a minimum with guest assistance and use the line to dry sheets when possible; we use local handmade soaps artisan crafted here in Woods Hole; we use local produce and suppliers both for breakfast and in our restaurant; we use biodegradable cleaners many of which we make on-site; we ask our staff to walk or bicycle to work; we offer air conditioning in July and August with all-new energy efficient units. Our goal is to set the highest standard for service and style, while impacting the earth as little as possible. We welcome a dialogue about this with our guests as we are always looking to learn, grow and improve.
Subject to Change. Rates and policies are subject to change. Such changes will be recorded on this website and are available upon request at the front desk of the inn.
