The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution invites the public to hands-on demonstrations, videos, and poster displays of fluid mechanics and oceanography, with something for every age on Saturday, May 10, from 10 to noon and 1 to 3 p.m., in the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics laboratory, located in the Rinehart Coastal Research Center on WHOI’s Quissett campus. Listen to author Janet Uhlar discuss her fascinating book,  “Freedom’s Cost: The Story of General Nathanael Greene.” Nathanael Greene played an instrumental role in the American Revolution and was a close friend and confidant to George Washington. And Greene rose quickly through the ranks of the Continental Army despite having no previous military experience.
